Spring Festival of Bands
.
.
Join the University of Pittsburgh Bands for the Spring Festival of Bands, an evening celebrating the power of lifelong music making. Each year, this concert brings together three ensembles at different stages of the musical journey: a standout local high school band, a community ensemble made up of dedicated musicians from across our region, and the University of Pittsburgh Symphonic Band.
Together, these performances show that music is not confined to a classroom or a career. It is a lifelong pursuit that connects people of every age and background. From students discovering their voices as young artists, to collegiate musicians refining their craft, to community members who continue to make music long after graduation, the Spring Festival of Bands honors the collaboration, artistry, and shared joy that sustain our region’s vibrant musical culture.
If you are a high school band director or a community band director and are interested in having your ensemble participate in the Spring Festival of Bands, please reach out to Assistant Director of Bands, Mr. Michael Buckstein, at mbuckstein@athletics.pitt.edu.
